An older women looks in the mirror, her face has lines that weren’t there before and spots she’s never noticed. Her youth is gone and the shine in her eyes has faded. She sees a woman whose life has somehow passed her by and she can’t seem to figure out where her youth went. Another woman looks in the mirror but she is younger. She sees a chubby face and freckles that she can’t seem to get rid of no matter how much makeup she puts on. She sees a woman who is not worthy enough to face the world yet, who doesn’t quite know who she is yet.
Is either of these women you? Each and every woman was made in their own special way and no matter what you think you see in the mirror it’s probably not true. In this day and time, we judge ourselves by comparing our body, mind, and heart with every other woman we meet. What we fail to realize is that we have our own personality and beauties and that we were made just the way we are for a reason. We all have our own talents and abilities. There are three things I try to do every morning: I wake up and thank God for my breath, look in the mirror and say you are wonderfully and beautifully made by God, and I drink my coffee. What do you do first thing in the morning? Are you depressed to look in the mirror or are you excited to see that God gave you another day?
